Leopard jump mating
The mating process between a male and female leopard
Moments after mating, a male leopard quickly retreats from the female’s claws in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve. Leopard courtship is brief, intense, and often aggressive, with repeated mating sessions taking place over several days. That’s a classic and dramatic Leopard mating interaction in the wild — and one of the most intense behavioural displays to witness in the wild. Leopard mating is famously aggressive and repetitive. A receptive pair may mate dozens of times over several days. The process itself is very brief, but immediately afterward the female often reacts explosively, snarling and swiping at the male. That sudden aggression is exactly why the male must move away quickly to avoid her claws and teeth.
