In Williamsburg, 2022, the body becomes both subject and landscape. Light and shadow move across fabric, dissolving the distinction between the human form and its surroundings. What initially appears intimate begins to approach abstraction; familiar shapes become uncertain, inviting the viewer to reconsider what is being seen.
Photographed in a private moment, the image explores the space between presence and absence, exposure and concealment. Its tonal contrasts transform an ordinary interior into something less easily defined—a study of texture, stillness, and the ways a body can inhabit a space without being entirely revealed.
Through monochrome, the photograph draws attention away from the distractions of color and toward the relationships between form, darkness, and light. The resulting ambiguity is intentional: the image offers no single interpretation, only the invitation to look again.
