spirit of “Flottin”

“Flottins” festival in Evian (Haute_Savoie, France) _ nothing seems to be able to extinguish this mischievous spirit, but the little apprentice elves try all the same!

Every year for several years the “Flottins” festival has taken place in Evian around Christmas. The "Flotttins" are a people of elves who periodically land on the shores of Evian (Haute-Savoie, France) to create their ephemeral "fabulous village" made up of cabins and statues made entirely from driftwood drifting on Leman Lake . These elves, storytellers and musicians, arouse a very playful spirit of wonder among adults and especially children.... a few days later they embark again towards some mysterious island in Leman Lake until the following year; they once again become those branches that we see here and there floating on the water and carried by the Rhône. Some of the most beautiful branch sculptures remain all year round to decorate the city.
