Every year around Christmas in Evian the Flottins festival takes place which includes numerous statues made of branches floating on the waters of the lake and the most successful examples of which then adorn the city for the rest of the year. Here an evocation of the famous thinker of Rodin renamed for the occasion "log sander". The photographer's shadow evokes these immaterial elves and passers-by look a little perplexed and amused.
