The Book Seller in Rabat

The book seller in Rabat, Morocco, had a rather peculiar presence—neither too welcoming nor distant. When I suggested taking a photo of him, he agreed and sat there calmly as if there were no camera in front of him. His bookstore had a wide range of books and mostly old newspapers. His face seemed somewhat contemplative and tinged with sadness, perhaps because today wasn't a good sales day. It might not be just today, but ever since the digital age began, digital technology has surged, and people now seek printed books less, leading to a noticeable decrease in the income of book sellers. But for me and some book enthusiasts, holding a printed book with the smell of ink and reading it leisurely is a vastly different experience from reading it on smart devices like e-readers, tablets, and smartphones...
